Surath Wickramasinghe Associates – (SWA) with its comprehensive offering of advanced skills and multi-disciplinary services, is one of the most innovative and integrated Design Practices in Sri Lanka. The Firm has been in practice for almost five decades and has maintained a sustainable approach to Architecture, Urban and Regional Planning, Engineering, Highway & Infrastructure Design, Green Buildings, Building Information Modelling and allied Sectors, including Project Management and Cost Consultancy. SWA are uniquely placed as they have successfully completed large and complex Architectural, Planning and Engineering Design challenges for both the Private and State Sectors. At the same time efficiently monitoring the Project completion schedules, Quality Control and Budgetary targets to satisfy the Clients’ requirements.

Furthermore, SWA’s approach is sensitive to location and culture, often combining the latest advances in building technology, environmental conservation, green building strategies and with techniques drawn from vernacular tradition; we harness the skills, enthusiasm and knowledge to create inspirational compliance.

SWA have won several Awards for their Excellence from the Sri Lanka Institute of Architects. In addition, the Projects SWA have undertaken in the past in collaboration with Foreign Consultants, where SWA have been responsible for the local Consultancy and Project Management functions include several prestigious High Rise Apartment Complexes and Mixed Development Projects in the City of Colombo.

SWA’s IT infrastructure could be compared with any International Architectural and Engineering Consultancy Practice. The organization recently upgraded its in-house Technology to work via Cloud Computing. In addition, SWA have also advanced its functions and are using emergent technologies for Building Information Modelling (BIM) as a platform for collaborative multi-disciplinary design coordination.

SWA have also expertise in Sustainable Design Concepts with Accredited Green Building Professionals in-house and have accordingly completed and obtained the Green Building Certification for several Projects..
